Green Mountain Energy is offering a pollution free residential electric rate at 13.8 for June 2007. This rate is the same regardless of how little or how much electricity you use in a month. The energy rate consists of 100% wind energy. The early termination penalty is $150 if you were to cancel the contract early. This is a typical termination penalty. It would not be considered excessive. The best termination penalty out there is $69 with Amigo Energy or $12 for each additional month left on the contract with Spark Energy. Green Mountain Energy shows a 13.8 cent residential electric rate on powertochoose.org. This is a very high electric rate right now while natural gas is at historical low levels and other electric companies have rates down in th 11 cent levels.
